'the great outdoors' by david mach
contemporary arts center
cincinnati, 1988
scottish artist david mach, well know for his meticulously fabricated sculptures, has conceived his magazine sculptures.
constructed between the late 1980s and the early 2000s, mach's installations look like a surf of magazines, spilling over and flowing
through the room, engulfing whole objects such as cars, furniture and airplanes. the large-scale pieces create an organic volume
of color and texture, characteristic of most of mach's work.
