chicago-based artist nick cave flexes his quixotic creativity with a new series of 'soundsuits' for lille3000's fantastic 2012 festival in france -
on now till the 13th of january, 2012. the selection of extravagant wearable art pieces are informed by the likes of rocket missiles and tree roots in an effort
to articulate the spirit of human movement through color, texture and sculpture.
cave combs flea markets for buttons, stuffed animals and other flotsam to build and assemble the elaborate suits -
using special knotting techniques and armatures to create a webbing-like under structure to support the volume of material.
the pieces come to life through the medium of dance - offering a new connection with the user, their body and surroundings.
